Our approach

The focus of our clinical interest is helping people struggling with emotional vulnerabilities that may express themselves later in life as Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Trauma-Related Dissociation or Borderline Personality Disorder. We aim to provide a comfortable and confidential space, and through the use of evidence based therapies, assist clients to build a fulfilling life in which all human emotions are experienced and welcomed. Our practice also provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence based therapy focusing on to helping clients acquire and apply new emotion regulation skills.

Professional Qualifications

Yvonne van der Munnik

Yvonne has developed the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for Mosman Private Hospital. The program helps clients diagnosed with features of Borderline Personality Disorder create a life worth living.  Currently Yvonne provides individual therapy to DBT clients.  Yvonne speaks English and is a native speaker of Dutch, which may be helpful for Dutch clients.  She understands the challenges and rewards of building a life in a new country.

Professional Qualifications

Yvonne holds a Master of Clinical Psychology Degree.  In the Netherlands, her country of birth, she holds the equivalent of a Bachelor Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in an unrelated field.

Yvonne is EMDR trained (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and is a member of the EMDRAA.

Professional interests

Yvonne’s  principal areas of interest are childhood neglect and abuse and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Yvonne is a Clinical Psychologist and accepts Medicare, DVA Provider and NDIS referrals.
