All Talk Psychology is located in Potts Point, in the heart of Sydney. In this intimate practice, we help people struggling with anxiety, depression, phobias, trauma or other problems in living.
A good and trusted relationship with your psychologist is the best starting point for change and recovery. When we first meet a client, we begin with listening, really listening to what our client tells us. Then we work together with that client to plan their way forward, using treatments that are based on scientific research and best practice.
These are some examples of how we combine feeling, knowledge and acting at All Talk Psychology to create effective therapy with a heart.
We can help you recover from depression. Each depressed person has a unique set of circumstances that have contributed to their depressed mood. Examples of such circumstances are your personality, genetic risks, trauma, family, work, friends, age, stress and life-transitions. In addition to our understanding and experience, All Talk Psychology can provide a detailed assessment to help determine the treatment most likely to be effective. This recommendation is then discussed with the referring doctor and with you to make sure we all work as a team.
We can help you recover from anxiety or phobias. Are you suffering from anxiety or phobias? We will help using empathy, understanding, mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). If you also have high emotional vulnerability and sometimes feel that you are a slave to your emotions, then we offer the evidence-based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). DBT, originally developed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder, is now widely applied to emotion-based disorders. Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based treatment thant may be helpful in processing traumatic material.
We assess cognitive functioning, such as memory, attention and intelligence. We administer tests of memory, attention and intelligence, such as the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scales, and provide comprehensive reports for your treatment team. Such reports are helpful when a loss of mental functioning is suspected (early stages of dementia, traumatic brain injuries etc).
These are only a few examples of how we can help. If we do our work well, then you receive care and support tailored uniquely to you and your circumstances. Our approach is explained on the Team page.
Many of our clients receive a Medicare rebate. Some of these are are bulk billed. The FAQ page gives you more details on how to obtain the benefits of treatment under Medicare.
